REVIEW – BOSE Noice Cancelling Headphones 700
This is the first product review I’m attempting to do on this BLOG, I hope you will all like it.
I needed some good, reliable and comfortable headphones to accompany my other home working setup so I started doing research.
I didn’t had budget in mind but I had a clear vision on what I want from the product so I started by highlighting features which were important for me:
- Good, overall quality, product to last years to come
- Low profile look, ideally black colour, aesthetic design
- Ideally wireless connectivity with long battery time
- USB-C connectivity to be in-line with my iPad PRO
- Very good quality microphones, I needed this to speak with my clients
- Noice Cancellation feature so external background noises are reduced to minimum exposure
- Light and comfortable so I can wear them 8 hours per day
- I’m not a great fan of “in ear” headphones so wanted to find “over ear” solution
- Must provide a good quality audio, by no means I’m an expert or sound designer but I appreciate a quality listening experience
This more or less narrowed all my searches down to BOSE NC 700 headphones and after using them now for 3 weeks I cannot be more happier with my purchase choice. The BOSE headphones are available in three different colour versions: Black, Luxe Silver, Soapstone (rose gold/white), as I wanted a low profile, sophisticated option I went for standard black model. These can also be purchased as a set with a case which provide addition 10h charge for you headphones, standard version cost around £350 where option with charging case will set you around £400, I went for standard version as 20 hours (that’s what headphones are offering) is more than enough for me and as I work mainly from home I can always charge them up making them ready for my next working day.
For me microphones were a deal breaker, I needed a superior quality of microphone to handle calls, FaceTime, skype as well as VOiP and these headphones does not fail in that department. You have four-microphone built-in system which picks and isolates your voice and let the noice cancelling feature reduce all the other surrounding sounds which creates this crystal clear effect. I was testing this with people I know and every single person said that my voice was better than if I would be using standard phone. Headphones will announce the call and will tell you when you finish the phone call, you can answer it by double tapping the right “earphone” as they have integrated touch panel which allows you to optimise volume, pick-up and finish phone calls, it will also tell you how much battery life you have remaining, without silly percentage, you will be told exact time in hours and minutes.
Other handy feature is a support for all smart voice assistants, you can chose from Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa, whichever suits you best. I went for Siri due to my “heavy-presence” Apple Setup. The headband is made out of Stainless-steel which remind you of it’s quality and heritage of the brand you are wearing. Materials used to make these headphones are very durable and futuristic, there is even ultra-soft foam which reminds me of rubber but it definitely more premium, which seats underside for lightweight comfort and at the same time is making sure that your hairstyle won’t be ruined by that. The ear-cups are angled, very comfortable, they are made from synthetic protein leather, they are very soft and built for all-day listening and wearing.
Bose Headphones 700 have 11 levels of noise cancellations, you can customise them using BOSE app, or you can use button on the left ear-cup to select 3 defaults sets (which you can further customise using the app). Based on noise surrounding, you can decide which noise level is right for you, there is also a safety feature in case you are walking down the road and you want to be aware of what’s going on around you. You do have a button for Conversation Mode which will pause the music and let 100% of surrounding noise in which will allow you to speak with people near you.
The sound quality os very good, BOSE is using their AR (Augmented reality) experience for ears, you can literally hear every sound clearly, it makes it a fantastic experience when you watch a movie or listening to music. It is worth mentioning that you can connect them to two devices at the same time so there is no need to configure them. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 the headphones are connected to your device immediately after you power them on. Headphones are coming with elegant case which nicely house them and do not take much space when travelling. I will give them my personal score as 9/10, I’m taking 1 point for the price point as I’m finding them a little expensive but I do believe they will pay for themselves in no time.

Cheers,
